Jennifer Tilly was conceived in Los Angeles on 16 September 1958 in very poor circumstances. Her father was a vehicle salesman and her mother worked as a teacher. Jennifer is the youngest of a family of four children she was frequently at her mother's theater performance and extremely impressed. When Jennifer reached the age of five the divorce of her parents took place. Jennifer was a resident of British Columbia for most of her childhood when her mother and others moved there. Jennifer was not a scholar, though as a youngster she was extremely artistic. When she was in Canada she was the victim of bullying frequently. As her interest in theatre began to fade at the age of 16, she began taking part in shows with her mother. The mother of her children encouraged the entire family to be passionate about arts and crafts. Her immediate response was to take actions.
