Nathalie Emmanuel
Nathalie Emmanuel, a British actor best known for her part as Missandei (HBO's fantasy epic Game of Thrones) from the year 2011 until 2019, was the first British actor. The actress was born and raised in Southend-on-the-Sea which is a resort on the sea town located in Essex, Emmanuel was drawn to the stage from a young age. The mother of her daughter was immediately impressed at her talent, and as young Nathalie was three-years-old, her parents began enrolling her in the singing, dancing and acting classes. Emmanuel was a talented performer who developed rapidly. By the end of the 90s, she performed the role of an infant Nala in "The Lion King," the West End musical that received rave reviews. Emmanuel auditioned for roles in film and television when she was in her teens. The actress got her first major breakthrough in 2007, when she began playing Sasha Valentine on the British soap-opera "Hollyoaks" (Channel 4, 1995-2010), 1995- ). Emmanuel was on the show for four seasons, before going off the show in. Emmanuel had her second break three years following that and was cast in the role of Missandei in HBO's Game of Thrones. She played the interpreter of Daenerys (played by Emilia Clarke). Emmanuel was integral part of every season of HBO's "Game of Thrones" until the final episode on May 19, 2019.
